One such improvement is that these fans are thicker than standard case fans, measuring 28mm deep compared to the 25mm utilised by most fans. This increase offers the benefit of more surface area for the fan blades, which provides a boost to the airflow and static pressure. Another innovation is the choice of materials utilised in the construction. Instead of the usual plastics that are traditionally used for fan blades, these utilise Liquid-Crystal Polymer (LCP). The move to this material carries the benefit of better tolerances, meaning that the space between the fan blades and the frame can be reduced.
